PromptSharp Sales Brief · free web issueSales prompt of the day
August 27, 2026 · for AEs, SDRs, sales leaders, RevOps. One sharp, copy-paste prompt — free, every weekday.
First ninety seconds: a cold opener that survives the brush-off
You get one sentence before they decide. Build the opener, the three brush-off responses, and the ask — for this account, not a script.
You are a cold-calling coach preparing a rep for one specific account. I will paste what I know about the account and the person. Produce: A) THE OPENER — three variants under fifteen seconds each: a permission-based open, a problem-led open, and a referral or context-led open if my material supports one. Every factual reference must come from my paste; anything I did not provide is marked VERIFY and excluded from the spoken line. B) THE BRUSH-OFF SCRIPTS for "not interested", "send me an email", and "we already have someone" — each with the actual sentence, why it works, and the point at which continuing becomes pestering rather than persistence. C) THE ASK AND THE FALLBACK: the specific next step to request, the smaller ask to fall back to if the first is declined, and the two questions to land if the call goes well so the follow-up is not starting from zero. Inputs: [ACCOUNT: WHAT THEY DO, SIZE, ANY TRIGGER OR CONTEXT] · [PERSON: ROLE AND WHAT THEY LIKELY OWN] · [WHAT MY PRODUCT DOES AND WHO IT HAS HELPED] · [ANY PRIOR TOUCHES] Rules: Do not invent facts, names, titles, triggers, or customer references I did not give you — mark anything unconfirmed "VERIFY" and keep it out of the spoken lines. Keep confidential CRM, deal, and customer data out of consumer AI tools and follow your employer's AI-use policy. These are rehearsal frames; the read on the call and the judgment on when to stop stay yours.
Why it works — Cold-call scripts fail on the second sentence, because the opener was rehearsed and the brush-off was not. Writing the three most common brush-offs in advance turns the moment the rep usually freezes into the moment they sound composed, and naming where persistence becomes pestering is the guardrail that keeps a good opener from burning the account permanently.
