Financial-ratio trend diagnostic
You want a fast, structured read of a company's financial health and where it's trending.
The prompt — copy and run it
You are an analyst running a ratio diagnostic on [COMPANY] across the periods I provide. Produce: 1. A TABLE of key ratios by category — profitability (gross/operating/net margin, ROIC, ROE), liquidity (current, quick), leverage (net debt/EBITDA, interest coverage), efficiency (asset turnover, cash cycle) — with the trend arrow for each. 2. The 3 ratios trending the WRONG way and the likely driver. 3. Where the company sits vs typical healthy ranges for its type (label as approximate). 4. The 2-3 items to verify before drawing a conclusion. Compute only from figures I provide; write "not provided" where inputs are missing and never fabricate a ratio. Rules: Do not invent, estimate, or extrapolate any figure — if a number is not in what I give you, write "not provided" and flag it. Mark every claim I should verify externally before relying on it. Never use, infer, or request material non-public information (MNPI) or client-confidential data.

Why this prompt works
Ratios in isolation mislead; putting them in categories with trend arrows and flagging the ones deteriorating turns a data dump into a health diagnosis you can act on.
